Bargaining Town Hall – How bad is it?
A Town Hall on the current status of Bargaining was held on October 26th. Prepared remarks were provided by Locke Spencer lead negotiator off the ULFA Negotiation team. Following prepared remarks there was time for open questions and general discussion. A summary of the areas discussed is presented below.
Collective Bargaining and Mediation
As was communicated by the Administration via email earlier today, the lead negotiator for the Board’s negotiating team has filed a request with the Alberta Labour Relations Board (ALRB) for informal mediation. This request was dated two days ago.
Bargaining Update October 19, 2021
The session consisted of a Board presentation on Article 28 (Intellectual Property), an ULFA presentation on Article 5 (Recognition), a discussion on accompaniment, a discussion clarifying which side of the negotiation table articles reside on, and a Board presentation on Article 9 (Personal Files). The ULFA and Board negotiation teams have reached agreement on Article 28.
Bargaining Update October 18, 2021
The session consisted of a Board presentation of some of the costs associated with the ULFA proposed Schedule B (Benefits), an ULFA presentation on Article YY (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion), Board presentations on Article 28 (Intellectual Property) and Article 17 (Personnel Committees), and an ULFA presentation on Article 25 (Financial Emergency).

Bargaining Update August 10, 2021
ULFA was recently notified that Dr. Kelly Williams-Whitt, who assumed the role of Chair of the Board Negotiating Team on July 1st replacing Dr. Chris Nicol, is leaving the University of Lethbridge and will therefore also be leaving the Board Negotiating Team.
