CAUT’s Analyzing Financial Statements
Although the full financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic remains uncertain, many colleges and universities in recent weeks have frozen new hiring, sought cuts in pay and benefits, and announced staff reductions.
While the situation varies from one institution to another, it is important that all academic staff associations have the skills to interrogate the financial claims being made by their administrations.

Leaves of Absence: What are they and how do they work?
The Academic Staff Collective Agreement between ULFA and the Board of Governors contains several types of leave provisions for continuing Members. These provisions are all contained in article 33, “Leaves of Absence, excluding Sessional Lecturers.” This page will provide basic information about taking a leave and some details on each kind of leave available.
