ULFA Update on Collective Bargaining December 19, 2025

The Board and ULFA negotiating teams held their thirty-fifth bargaining session toward a new Academic Staff Collective Agreement (ASCA) on December 19, 2025. One ULFA member attended this half-day session as an observer. The parties discussed a proposal package presented by the ULFA team in response to the proposal package presented by the Board team on December 11, 2025.  ULFA’s package included new language (with a memo relating to Schedule B), as well as retabled language for Articles 3, 5, 25, 35, and Schedule D.

The ULFA team also presented an analysis of how salary and salary structure at the University of Lethbridge compare to three groups: the five historical comparators, a subset of the Board’s preferred comparators, and all Western Canadian universities.

The Alberta Government’s Mediation Services has appointed Greg Francis to assist with formal mediation. The parties will determine future bargaining dates in the new year.
