On September 19 and 20, ULFA hosted its second and third Bargaining Town Halls in this round of Collective Agreement bargaining.
The Chief Spokesperson of ULFA’s Negotiating Team presented an overview of the process so far. The presentation reviewed the articles opened by both parties, identified the articles that have been exchanged to date, and provided a brief overview of interest-based discussions relating to a Teaching Professoriate and the Board proposals for Articles 9, 19, 23, 24 and Schedule B.
Many of the questions and comments raised by Members related to the Board proposal for the Professional Activities Report (PAR), Merit and Career Progress (Articles 23 and 24) and the Teaching Professoriate discussions. Themes included fairness, equity concerns, workload, financial implications, logistics and smaller employment categories.
Many thanks to all Members who came out to one or both of this month’s Bargaining Town Halls. ULFA’s Negotiating Team is happy to receive further feedback from any interested Member, particularly anyone unable to attend either one. A summary of the progress of articles opened in this round of bargaining is available here. Bargaining sessions have been scheduled for October 17, 18 and 31, November 1, 7 and 8, and December 12, 13, 19 and 20.
