February is Black History Month in Canada and across the world. The theme for 2025 is “Black Legacy and Leadership: Celebrating Canadian History and Uplifting Future Generations.” At a time when long-overdue equity initiatives are already coming under direct threat from various quarters, including within the post-secondary sector, it is essential to celebrate our diversity, to remember that diversity is the very source of excellence, and to build a future that is truly inclusive.
ULFA’s Gender, Equity and Diversity Committee wishes to acknowledge the immense contributions to excellence that our Black members and co-workers make at the University of Lethbridge and across the Canadian post-secondary world, and to celebrate Black History Month with the members of our larger community. Please participate in the ongoing activities on campus and in our community and learn more about Black History Month from the resources provided below.
