Solar Panel Public Discussion

This educational hybrid event is co-hosted by ULRASA (University of Lethbridge Retired Academic Staff Association) and ULFA (University of Lethbridge Faculty Association), and it is a free event for the public. Join four people who have taken the plunge and installed solar on their rooftops:

Trent Takeyasu has experience both installing solar on his personal residence and was part of the decision-making team that installed solar on the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta.

Leona Jacobs installed her solar in conjunction with an air source heat pump in 2022 after suffering the hot, dry, smoky, soul-sucking summer of 2021 and watching the devastation that befell British Columbia that season.

David Kaminiski has most recently installed solar this past spring after taking notes from Leona.

Mark Goettel has had his solar installation for 9+ years.

This session will be a casual discussion of the whole concept of microgeneration using rooftop solar with the objective of learning from each other and being better informed about whether installing solar is something to be considered in your personal circumstances.

If you would like to attend the discussion online via Zoom please register at this link here. If you are attending in-person, there is accessible entry to Anderson Hall through Parking Lot F, immediately west of the building. Please bring your own reuseable water bottle to the talk, water fountains are located in the Anderson Hall building.

The University of Lethbridge is located at 4401 University Drive West, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1K 3M4. A map is available here.
